Summer Project - Hydroponic Strawberries

Day 1

I've been wanting to try this for a while, and Ikea have made it a bit easier by releasing a series of items that allow you to create a DIY indoor hydroponics garden/farm. Last night I picked up a set of items that have allowed to start. The end goal is to have an indoor farm producing strawberries (A bakers favourite fruit...think jam!), though I'm starting a little smaller and more basic.

2017 - New Years Resolutions

I've been procrastinating a lot about goals for next year... I suppose I'm reaching that time of life where your age has actual physical implications, and I'm keen to do as much as possible to delay onset of any health issues. It's fairly well documented that on average, from the age of 40 onwards you lose ~1% of your muscle mass/performance capability per year... I'm now in that age range, and I can expect to find training harder and harder each year. As such, I'm adding in a potentially quite high-impact health-related goal.

Hitman : Impressions from a terrible stealth player

I'm pretty bad at stealth-based games. They normally end up with a pile of bodies, and mine on top, while various enemies reload their guns in a circle around me. I almost lost patience with Hitman...I was really struggling to get to grips with the mentality behind it, and whenever I looked for help I would come across videos of people doing perfect runs, elegantly slipping through lines of sight, and getting massive scores. I was clearly useless...

MASSIVE CHALICE

I've just finished playing MASSIVE CHALICE, which is a strategy/tactical game from Double-Fine... I remember seeing the Kickstarter a while ago (I think a nudge was sent out to all backers of Planetary Annihilation). It's a lovely little game that I really enjoyed...the first single-player game in a long time to hold my attention to the end...it ticks a lot of boxes for me.
